The co-founder of Dent Global, a British-based business accelerator, recently released the results of an 8 year study of entrepreneurs. Through its data, the organization has broken down the growth chart of a new business into 9 steps. They range from “Start Up to “Wilderness”, with only 1 or 2 employees, through “The Corporation”, with 250+ employees and an established foothold in the marketplace. These stages represent a growth from Concept to Value to Influence to Assets.

Not surprisingly, 75% of businesses never get beyond the Wilderness stage.
